Japanese Final Fantasy fans get a month of purgatory.
Nintendo announced today that the Japanese release date for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, a GameCube-only RPG developed by Square's Game Designers Studio development team, has been moved down a bit. Originally scheduled for July 18, the multiplayer role-player will now rain down upon Japanese stores on August 8.The three-and-a-half-week delay was settled upon "in order to fine-tune the balance and raise the quality of the game," a Nintendo spokesman told Japan game news site Dengeki Online. Although the news is undoubtedly poor for FF fans, it'll also plant the game's release squarely in the middle of summer holidays for Japanese students, which likely will help out its sales immensely.
Nintendo of America haven't given out a solid release date for the U.S. version yet, but an end-of-year launch still seems very likely.
