Introduced in 2002... not coming out until 2004.
Blizzard Entertainment announced on their homepage today that StarCraft: Ghost, their console-exclusive tactical-action game, will not come out before the end of 2003. The delay, put into effect "in order to meet our goals and deliver the outstanding gameplay experience our customers have come to expect," means that Ghost won't hit the PS2, Xbox and GameCube until sometime in 2004."We firmly believe that this additional development time will prove invaluable, ensuring that the game will truly expand on the legendary gameplay experience found in the previous StarCraft titles," Blizzard wrote on their page. "As with all Blizzard products, our goal is to make StarCraft: Ghost the best it can be, and we will not release the game until it's ready."
StarCraft: Ghost is now the second big holiday-2003 release after Halo 2 that's been delayed to parts unknown. Although it'll save us all a bit of money before Christmas, it also means that we've got a long, long wait ahead of us for both titles. Stay tuned to the official Ghost site for future details.
