Some new post-launch features are coming.
Sony Online Entertainment sent word today that PlanetSide, their MMO first-person action game, has shipped to stores. The PC title costs $49.99 and includes a free 30-day subscription to the game; the access fee after that is $12.99 a month or $21.99 a month for SOE's "All Access" plan that lets you play all of their games under a single account."PlanetSide provides an awesome action-filled adrenaline rush as players experience the game's vast online world and deep gameplay that is unlike anything ever seen before," said Michael Lustenberger, director of product marketing at Sony Online Entertainment. "With dozens of specialties, vehicles, weapons and ten continents to explore and conquer, PlanetSide is the game for anyone who enjoys action games."
Most interesting to would-be PlanetSiders, though, is SOE's announcement today outlining the first post-launch features they plan to throw into the game. Among the enhancements: three new vehicles (a bomber, an airborne vehicle transport and an anti-aircraft buggy), the ability to form 30-man platoons, squad-vs-squad competitions, and Sanctuary strikes that open access to previously untouched bases.
