Silent Hill 3 Release Date Set

Konami pins down a summer Japanese release date for their terrible... er, terrifying adventure thriller. Some more character info and screens are also afoot.

Konami's main office in Japan announced a firm release date today for the Japanese version of Silent Hill 3, the latest insanity-laced trip to horror from the folks at KCE Tokyo. The game will hit Japanese stores on July 3, while the U.S. version will find its way onto shelves sometime in August.

To commemorate the new announcement, KCET updated their official Silent Hill 3 homepage today with new screenshots and a profile of Claudia, a blonde-haired lady in her late 30s and the first human being Heather runs into after being transported into the shopping mall of doom. When Heather asks her what's going on at the start of the game, she simply replies "You are approaching the beginning... to restore the paradise that everyone lost" and leaves the scene. Hmm. As you can probably tell, Claudia's something of a mystery?it's hard to say whether she's your ally or your worst enemy in this new world. Hopefully the former.
