The first next-gen Yu-Gi-Oh! will attempt to take the game series and make it a little more playable... not to mention a little more palatable to look at.
After a series of superb GBC games and a bit of a false start on the PlayStation, Konami will be trying to shake the old mantra that all console Yu-Gi-Ohs must look junky next month with The Duelists of the Roses, the first PS2 game in the series. Duelists will have the most expansive storyline of any Yu-Gi-Oh! game yet, according to its creators, and it's hard to counter this after looking at the screens: you'll have to deal with over 600 cards (moving the monsters in 3D, no less) as you attack and defend your way through Europe's final Rose War. The game will also come with three (real) limited edition game cards, so fans really have very little to lose by trying this game out. The official launch date is February 18.
