Shinji Mikami's latest (well, one of his latest, anyway) stars Sieg Wahrheit as he destroys hordes of monsters and controls armies of warriors. Look out.
We've already covered Chaos Legion, the fantasy-inspired story of Sieg Wahrheit and his "fallen" friend Victor Delacroix, a fair bit back when it was announced in Japan. A few more juicy details have surfaced since then, however, about the battle system you'll use throughout the game's 13 levels.Generally speaking, there are two types of gameplay in Chaos Legion: "normal" (where you fight enemies by yourself like any other 3D action game), and "Legion" (where Sieg summons allies, or legions, to help him out). There are seven legion types available, from archers and bombers to power teams and the mysterious "giant legion". Although you can't control these legions directly (you're too busy moving Sieg around, remember), you can direct them to do all sorts of stuff?lock onto and attack enemies, form wall formations around Sieg and protect him from the elements, and so on. If the game's half as impressive as the screenshots seem to show, then this could be one of the hotter releases of next summer.
