Sony sets the date of their Euro explore-'em-up to next February. Ready to possess some statues?
You needed to look kinda hard in Sony's booth at last May's Electronic Entertainment Expo for information on Primal, the latest game from the MediEvil guys at SCE Europe. That was then, though, and this is now: Sony affixed an official U.S. release date today on the solid-looking action game. According to their announcement, it'll be hitting stores sometime next February; no retail price was announced."Primal offers a dark, atmospheric gameplay universe, filled with brilliantly demonic characters, yet it is a world that feels familiar and closely linked to our own," said Sony product director Ami Blaire. "Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Cambridge Studio has successfully combined a compelling storyline with fully developed characters and backgrounds that really feel alive, delivering a new standard in entertainment on PlayStation 2."
In case the name draws a blank for you, Primal stars Jen Tate and her friend Lewis as they're pitted against each other by elemental forces (you know...the sort you see on Buffy every week). You'll have two characters at your disposal?the aforementioned Jen and a gargoyle named Scree?and you'll need to use both characters (not to mention Jen's four demon shapes) to fully explore and conquer the game's four realms. Stay tuned for the hands-on report later.
