Street Fighter IV is coming to the iPhone next month, and we've just played it. Before we give you our hands-on impressions, we thought you'd like to know the game's character roster and release price.

Capcom stopped by earlier today to give us a chance to test our mettle in next month's eagerly-anticipated Street Fighter IV for iPhone. We'll have our hands-on impressions with the portable puncher later, but for now, we've got the game's launch details, including the price and character roster.

When the game lands in the App Store next month, it will sell for $9.99 according to Capcom representative Michael Larsen. During our time with the title, we were able to scope out the 8-character roster. Making the cut for the iPhone iteration of the arcade hit are Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and Street Fighter IV newbie Abel.

Be sure to check back soon for our in-depth impressions of Street Fighter IV on iPhone, as well as video footage of the game in action.

This is probably the best tech demo I have ever seen! The animation was looking tight and the sound had far better quality than I thought it would. Not sure I wanna play a game like that on a fuckin' phone but I'm impressed.

Example of people throwing around terms they read on the internet. . . "tech-demo?" It makes sense in the literal sense but. . . FAIL!!!

BTW- Why not play it on a phone? WTF? LMAO!!!

Are you serious? First you give someone crap for not being correct with their wording then you say something that stupid? LOL, Have you played street fighter? I don't even like to play it on a standard console controller let alone a touch screen! It may as well be a tech demo as far as I'm concerned.

I wonder, why hasn't any company released a generic bluetooth enabled controller that will work with the iphone? Better yet, why not invent (or modify) a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller in order to plug-in under the iPhone. It would also be awesome if the cradle to connect the iPhone to the controller had a "stand" which would hold the iPhone in a horizontal position, allowing you to watch the screen while holding on to the controller with two hands. If such a device existed, then the iPhone could become the ultimate mobile gaming device.

I think this is example of people trying to act smart.

What the hell are you talking about? Tech-demo = demonstrating technology. And believe it or not, people would rather play a portable game on a Nintendo or Sony handheld than a phone.
