Men dressed as Mario & Luigi wanted on assault charges

Two men who dressed up as Mario and Luiqi for Halloween are wanted on assault charges after they beat up and robbed a cab driver.
The New York Daily News has a story (found on Kotaku) of two criminals who have besmirched the Mario Brothers' name more than anything before. Yes, even more than the movie and the CD-i games (both on YouTube).
According to the Daily News, late on Halloween night, a trio of cab passengers--two of which were dressed as Mario and Luigi--assaulted the taxi driver. The story states that one of the costumed video game characters tried to nab the cabbie's wallet, which led to the driver pulling into a gas station and demanding the passengers leave. The Mario and Luigi lookalikes responded by beating up the driver and taking his wallet while the other passenger, a man dressed in a 80's-style white suit--Tommy Vercetti, perhaps--kept a lookout. The assailants are still at large, and were last seen at the Staten Island gas station. New Super Mario Bros. Wii comes out this Sunday.

The real Mario & Luigi would never set foot in Staten Island--they're both Brooklyn boys.
I think Wario & Waluigi were trying to frame them.

I always suspected mario and luigi was in the italian mafia. Mario has a blond girlfriend, he pretends to be a plumber at the day time as cover and we get to see their true colors here.

I like how at the end he threw in "New Super Mario Bros. Wii comes out this Sunday". You should have added "Gas station assault level not included".

holy shit, they kicked his ass! it looks like in the picture that they stabbed his stomach and blood is all over the floor, but everyone knows mario and luigi dont use knives. they just put all their weight onto peoples' necks. IMO, i'd prefer a stabbing.

A few years back my buddy and I were Mario and Luigi for halloween. We went to a halloween party with some other friends and had a good time. Later that night I couldn't find my plumber partner in crime and he wasn't picking up his cell phone. I finally got a call from him from jail. He got arrested for driving under the influence, so I had to go bail him out! As if the police officers at the county jail weren't cracking up enough about having Luigi in their jail cell, shortly thereafter, his italian brother in red comes to bail him out! They said they see alot of crazy shit on halloween night, but we made it all worth it! Ah, good times ;)
