Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 had a launch party in New York City, and GamePro was there. Check out the pics from the party!
For a game set to break records, it's appropriate that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 had an epic launch party in New York's Union Square. I was able to chronicle some of the craziness with my trusty iPhone. Check out the pics below!
Gamers waited for hours to play Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer in a military tent setting.
DJ Jazzy Jeff was rocking the turntables in the main gameplay room.
There were probably fifty games running simultaneously at all times in the tent, for four hours. That's a lot of bullets.
Referees adorned in military gear kept the peace, as well as gamers' scores.
A gay marriage rally was being held about twenty feet from the line to get into the event. A reaction to the recently-pulled commercial?
Ice-T was amongst the many celebrities that hit up the VIP lounge. Even us press couldn't get in :(
Much like the press was shut out of the VIP lounge (can you tell I'm bitter?), some fans could only observe the action from the outside.
We got to chat with the face of Modern Warfare 2--Robert Bowling. Look for the video interview online this week!
