Netflix PS3 streaming starts tomorrow

That didn't take long. After announcing that streaming would be "coming soon" to PS3 last week, Netflix is sending out the PS3 streaming discs to arrive tomorrow!

A little over a week ago, Netflix and PS3 jointly announced that the PS3 would receive Netflix streaming ability before the end of November, the two companies are delivering--early!

Just moments ago, a "Netflix Shipping" email, which struck me as odd since I already have one movie out--Chinatown (long dramas always take the longest to return). When I opened it, I learned the good news--my PS3 Netflix streaming disc is shipping today to arrive tomorrow!

The bad news? I won't be around to use it this weekend since I'll be in NY this weekend for the Modern Warfare 2 pre-launch event, among other things. Ah well. Expect impressions sometime next week, if not sooner.

Why is a disc needed? I know someone explained it but I can't remember.

the disc is needed to watch the movies until they add it to the XMB in an update..when ever that is lol..prolly sometime at the beginning of next year..but who knows.

But I thought PS3 users hated Netfix? Well, it seemed like they did when Xbox 360 users had it and they didn't.

I don't know how anyone could hate anything that lets you watch Van Damme classics like Double Impact and Double Team on demand.

So theres Blu-ray, psn video store, and now netflix. Looks like netflix will be getting my money, sorry SONY.

SWEET because both of my 360's Wii and PS3 80GB 4 usb ports were stolen and i do not plan on going gold again. So I will not be playing on live that make my PS3 the best system i got now. free on lineplay and now netflix. befor you know it the ps3 will offer free game for download just like 360.
