With the Fall Classic kicking off tonight, Sony has used its baseball simulation game, MLB 09 The Show to predict the outcome. Phillies fans will be pleased.

Sony's PlayStation Blog has used the company's baseball simulator, MLB 09 The Show to predict the outcome of the World Series. We're not ones to scoff at the ability of a video game to predict major sporting events--after all, the Madden series has predicted 5 of the last 6 Super Bowl champions--so we'll agree with the judgment that the Phillies will triumph in the World Series over the Yankees in 7 games.

Does it cloud my judgment that I'm a Mets fan? Considering that this is a series between the Phillies, who are their division rivals while the Yanks are their cross-town rivals, I'd say it all cancels out, right?

... ah, screw it, go Phils! Except for Pedro Martinez, that traitor.

The prediction looks like it's actually going to happen. What a performance by Lee.

Of course this was the outcome, since the Frillies won the series last year, they're designed to be the best team in the game, and with the Yanks not making the playoffs, they're designed to be much worse than they actually are. Even the Red Sox were very tough to beat in this game and as we all know, that was not the case in 2009.
