Fans of the NES classic Excitebike should start revving their Wii, as Excitebike World Rally, a WiiWare game in the vein of the origina, will be coming out next month.
The addition of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Golden Axe to the Virtual Console wasn't the only treat today for those of you nostalgic for Nintendo's cartridge days. On the latest episode of the Wii console's streaming show Nintendo Week, a trailer for Excitebike: World Rally, Nintendo's latest retro revival was debuted. Unlike the torturous months we had to wait to play Punch-Out, Excitebike World Rally will be coming to WiiWare on November 9.
Don't have your Wii handy right now? We'll, we've embedded the trailer below so that you don't have to suffer through the awful, Z-grade production values and comedy in Nintendo Week. If you're a glutton for punishment, however, you can watch the entire episode on YouTube (Part 1 and Part 2). Beware--you can never un-watch it.

Looks like the original but for the SNES, as for playing the wii and buying more games, Nintendo needs to start putting more games out that we ALL want to play, not what my grandmother would like to play. I have been putting off getting rid of my wii now for over a year because 2008 was such a great year for the wii, but 2009 has been the worst year ever to be a Nintendo fan, I just hope NSMBWii changes all this. I tell you what, that PS3 slim is looking better and better everyday. Nintendo is making all this profit off of us, why don't they pour a little bit of it back out and make at least 1 great game release every quarter like Sony does? Is that too much to ask Shigeru? Give us new franchises, more development teams, and a broader range of titles to play.

See, this is what Nintendo needs to do and what the Dreamcast should have done. BRING BACK THE OLD GAMES! Just expand on the classics. This is what will bring people in. Imagine, a press release for a new Streets of Rage, Shenmue 3 (which should have happend YEARS ago) or Road Rash. There are so many old games out there that people want to see now. Why don't they realize that?

Doesn't look much better than the original, but it still looks fun. Nice little distraction from all the other big games out there.
