Modern Warfare 2 online to include 3rd-person option

Infinity Ward has confirmed what leaked footage had hinted at--Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include an option that allow players to engage in combat via the third-person perspective!
Earlier today, Joystiq discovered mysteriously leaked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 footage on YouTube (which has since been removed) showing a multiplayer match being played in a way never seen before in the Call of Duty series--from a third-person perspective. Just an hour ago, Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist Robert Bowling confirmed the video's authenticity, stating on Twitter, "Yes there's a leaked video. Yes it confirms a new Playlist type in MW2 & yes it's why I recommend a media blackout."
Joystiq expounded on the details of the third-person gameplay, stating that it can only be utilized in private matches or if you choose the option for your playlist. Regardless of the method you choose, all players in the match must use the third-person.
We're sure to find out a few more choice gameplay tidbits in the next few weeks before launch here on GamePro. We recommend you call off any media blackouts.

At the rate of things,and judging how this year has been so far,I wouldn't be at all suprised if they decided to make 3rd-person play exclusive to the 360 lol!! They're already shafting players of other systems with DLC.
But seriously,I personally would not wanna get used to playing in 3rd person,after years of 1st person fragging. If the option was available from the start of the series I'd be more apt to give it a go. But as is I'll try it out when the game is available.

good they force the option to all or none, otherwise people in 3rd would be using the camera to get an advantage on 1st person guys

um, gears didnt invent 3rd person?! anyway, after playing RFG and U2, i think i like 3rd person more, because it gives you an advantage if you know how to use it. some people will look straight no matter what, you gotta play with the camera. for example, when im playing RFG multiplayer and i know im being chased from behind, i'll hide behind a corner and turn my camera at an angle so that i can see the dude chasing me. when hes in range i'll bash him with my sledgehammer.

Not sure how good it would be... I mean, Oblivion and Fallout3 are both First Person games that have the option of going 3rd person, but it looks and feels really weird. Animations in 3rd person aren't natural at all. Maybe they can do a better job with this game.
