Bayonetta receives perfect score from Famitsu

Japanese videogame magazine Famitsu gives Sega's sexy action game a "perfect" score of 40/40 in its October 20 issue.

Only a handful of games have received a "perfect" score of 40/40 from respected Japanese videogames magazine Famitsu. Metal Gear Solid 4 was one, as was Nintendogs, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - but these games are now joined by Sega's sexy M-rated action title, Bayonetta.

The game is currently scheduled for release in the United States at the end of January 2010. You can read more about it here.

Wow, that's impressive. I was never especially interested in it but now seems like it might be worth paying attention to

I'm still not interested. Don't really like playing as girls, except for Nariko from Heavenly Sword. But definitely not this chick with the crappy hair and high heels. Just not for me.

That's a surprise. but if a well resected japanese magazine like Famitsu gave bayonetta that good of a score then i'll buy it when it drops in stores this january.

then again i'll be picking up mass effect 2 as well that same month!!!

I've never thought that Famitsu's perfect scores were very important. While some games deserve them, some do not and I'm pretty sure this is one of them that doesn't. Take a closer look at that list of games that scored perfectly in Famitsu and you'll notice a pretty obvious trend right away: they only reward perfect scores to games made in Japan. Coincidence? I think not.

But really, what do the japs know about good games? Alot of their games suck! Like that one where you roll around and collect things. Katamari!(spelling?) All their RPG's are the same, bright colors and turn based. And! And! I'm just going to say it. Metal Gear 4? OVERRATED! Yes, the graphics are great. But those goddamn cutscenes were just dead weight.

How about the entire Metroid series? Tomb Raider? Resident Evil? Castlevania OOE? Don't forget Chun Li! haha... You write all these games off too?? Ridiculous...
I'll trust Japan on this one. Politics aside, hair and shoes aside, and other games that got perfect scores aside, I'm sure (at the very least) this is going to be a pretty damn good game. I like the main character, she looks like some weird spawn of quentin tarantino's Kill Bill'esque series. While definitely strange looking (Check out her stance!), I'm sure she kicks some serious ass.

The Japs are easily turned on by anything with a sexy theme. It could be a simple art work with nudity or in this case- video game. You see, even pixilated ladies turn them Japs on, hence the perfect score.
