GTA IV, Street Fighter IV, Left 4 Dead become Platinum Hits

I hope when you buy this game for $30, you trade in that rock you've been living under.

Microsoft sent out a press release earlier today (reproduced below) welcoming five new titles into the company's Platinum Hits Collection. Grand Theft Auto IV, Street Fighter IV, Left 4 Dead, Saints Row 2, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will join the dozens of other Platinum Hits titles at under $30.

For many of the titles, this is a timely move. Valve recently released a new campaign, Crash Course, for Left 4 Dead, while Rockstar is delivering a second new episode add-on to GTA IV with Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Street Fighter IV purchasers can at least be happy they won't have to pay full price for next year's game either.

Legendary Franchises Join Xbox 360 Platinum Hits Collection
Retailers extend 'Buy 2 - Get 1 Free' promotion thru October 31st as Grand Theft Auto, Streetfighter and Left 4 Dead join the latest inductees in the Platinum Hits Collection.

Microsoft today announced the latest titles that have earned their place in the Xbox 360 Platinum Hits collection, including "Grand Theft Auto IV" (Rockstar Games); "Streetfighter IV" (Capcom); "Left 4 Dead" (Valve); "Saint's Row 2" (THQ); and "Star Wars - The Force Unleashed" (LucasArts). The new titles added to the collection are as follows:
Grand Theft Auto IV: A powerful modern-day crime epic set in the most detailed sandbox environment ever created.
