Dead Space 2 in development

The sequel to one of the best shooters of 2008 has started development, with the heavy lifting set to start in the next few months.
Dead Space 2--now with more limbs!
Visceral Games has a genuine top-tier franchise on their hands with Dead Space. The first was our Xbox 360 Game of the Year in 2008, and the Wii spin-off, Dead Space Extraction, just earned a 5/5 score and an Editor's Choice from reviews editor Tae Kim. Now comes word, that a second game will soon begin production.
Joystiq has discovered a help wanted ad from Visceral Games on Linkedin that states "The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place." The position being filled is for "Lead Combat & Controls Designer," which may signify even more innovation in the game's insane limb-slaying combat.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were the only consoles mentioned in the job listing. We will update you with more information about the next chapter of the Dead Space saga as we learn more.
With Dead Space Extraction releasing, it's no shock that the team would go back to working on the Dead Space franchise proper. Hopefully we'll start seeing more of Dead Space 2 sometime next year. A demo at E3 2010 would be nice...

i liked this game alot.hopefully they dont screw it up.the only complaint i had was the stop and shoot factor.maybe in the next one you will be able to move around while shooting.

Deadspace was freakin awesome, but i wonder how will the second one be any different. maybe issac goes back to the ishimura because he forgot his wallet?? I also heard they are making a movie? i just hope doesn't suck!

Deadspace was an excellent game with a great sci-fi story. I loved how shit would just jump outta nowhere and the music was creepy. Loved the weapons, can't wait to get the second one.

You are kidding, right? You could shoot and walk just fine on Dead Space. It's on RE5 that you had to stop and shoot.

Nice! Loved the fist Dead Space, and I'ma get Extraction soon. Although I sincerely doubt DS2 will come too Wii. Whatever, as long as it isn't 360 exclusive, I'm in.

Can't freakin wait. The Original Dead Space is better than Resident Evil 5 in my opinion. Just bough Extraction for Wii, which is also great. I'm gonna buy this as soon as it comes out!
