New "Crash Course" campaign for XBLM and PC includes new maps and achievements.

Valve made good on promises to continue releasing Left 4 Dead content today with the debut of "Crash Course," the new campaign announced in August.

Valve Drops New Left 4 Dead DLC

Find out what happened after the Mercy Hospital rooftop evac in 'Crash Course.'

The "Crash Course" campaign was pitched as filler that would bridge the story gap between the rooftop helicopter escape at the end of the original "No Mercy" campaign and the abandoned highway beginning of "Death Toll." The DLC adds a mini-campaign (only two maps are included with one safehouse in between, though the new maps are playable in Co-op, Versus and Survival modes) that culminates in an appropriately exhilarating finale.

Despite the controversial sequel, fresh DLC proves the original L4D isn't finished yet.

"Crash Course" also comes packed with ten new achievements, a plethora of fresh graffiti and new recorded dialogue available today for 560 MS Points ($7) on the XBox Live Marketplace (PC players can expect a free update upon login.)

THE VERDICT by Alex Wawro Alex Wawro's Avatar This is great news for PC owners, but console gamers should balk at having to shell out $7 for two new maps and a handful of achievements.

I bought it. I rather like it. Haven't played it on vs. yet but from what I saw just playing the campaign it should be a good campaign for vs. Ten new achievements is great, while it's only two chapters long the first chapter is pretty lengthy (I'd say 2 and a half chapters worth in one chapter) and the finale is really fun. 7$ is not bad...I think it's worth it. And all you assholes that bitched about L4D 2 being made and wanted DLC you better buy this or you are hypocrites. Besides...if you bitched about how L4D 2 should have been DLC they would have charged you a hell of a lot more than 7$ for 5 brand new campaigns, new special infected, new weapons, and all the other new shit they're adding. L4D 2 as DLC would probably end up costing about 60 bucks in the long run any how.
