As if a recent $100 price drop wasn't enough, Microsoft is sweetening the deal with two highly-rated games for no extra charge!
Microsoft's done a lot to make the Xbox 360 Elite an attractive offer. They've dropped $100 off the price of the console, added a limited-time $50 rebate, and now the company is adding two free games to the system while keeping the price at $300, Major Nelson has confirmed. Lego Batman and Pure will be the star attractions of the Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Bundle, which was announced alongside the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Game Pack, which combines a wireless controller and four Xbox Live Arcade games for only $10 the normal list price. Both bundles are already shipping to stores.
If you want an even sweeter deal, a Microsoft representative has confirmed to GamePro that the Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Bundle can indeed be used in the rebate offer, as long as the console is purchased before October 5. Check out more information about the bundle in the press release below!

Attractive, but considering I just sent my #2 360 for e74 repair- maybe I'll invest in a PS3...

I doubt we would have seen much of these deals if the ps3 didn't drop in price. Competition is fierce now! But microsoft doesn't realize how their overpriced accessories are a huge drawback still.

Don't care how less the PS3 breaks down compared to the 360
when it becomes more than just that & a blu-ray player then
I'll be impressed...But I am waitin on God of War 3 & Heavy Rain
But it's cool, my extensive 360 library will forever hold me over til then

That would be nice but it won't happen. You can still find deals though because everytime I pay for a year(13 month cards) it only cost $30. You just have to know where to look.

The 360 has had a different holiday bundle for the last three years with various games. This one(like the previous ones) have nothing to do with the PS3 price drop. And next year the 360 will have another holiday bundle--thats how they roll.
I will agree that their accessories(mainly the wireless adapter, wireless headset and hard drives) are ridiculously overpriced. Thats why I won't buy them. I use a ethernet cable($5), an earpiece headset from Game Crazy($15) and my 120 hard drive was $99, despite how it's still currently $150 to buy seperately. You would have thought that Microsoft would have lowered their prices by now. Oh well.

Dang, Microshaft must be hurting. I still won't buy something that's going to break on me within a year with expesnive a## accessories. I think I'll go ahead and get a ps3 which will save me more money. 1. It wont red ring on me 2. I don't have to pay to play online 3. built in wifi that doesn't cost 100! dollars 4. I can upgrade to a 500 gig hard drive for 100 bucks vs the expensive 150 dollar 120 gig xbox hard drive. and 5. the ps3 is more of an entertainment system than a toy. I have better things to do since i have a job and wife than play a toy all day long. "Ps3 only does everything" sony is so right. I think I'm seeing deja vu all over again. Did Microsoft not learn that they need to cost effectivly produce a system they can reduce in size. Oh wait they rushed the 360 a year early because they were losing money on the original xbox. They would have won the hd dvd war and quite possibly beat sony if they had waited a year for the hd dvd format to be included in an xbox.
