We thought Sega's spy-RPG was going to be coming out next month, but Alpha Protocol may have its mission delayed until 2010.

Looks like another title is getting pushed back. GameStop is now listing Obsidian Entertainment's Alpha Protocol as releasing in Summer 2010 and not next month.

Sega has not returned our requests for confirmation, but if two mega retailers both have the same info -- expect this one to get the official "delayed" stamp before long. If it is true, this wouldn't be the game's first delay, it was originally scheduled to ship in February of this year, and was pushed back until October.

Last week, an intercepted memo between Sony and Sega revealed that the game ws facing some harsh internal criticism as a Sega evaluator deemed the game's first level "too hard" and made the comment that it doesn't feel anything like an RPG.

I hope this isn't true. As far as action-RPGs go, now is a good time for Alpha Protocol to shine, as it's served better by releasing closer to Dragon Age than Mass Effect 2.

Sorry guys. I work for a gamestop in Michigan and it's true. At least that's what our release date says. One day it had a release of October, the next day it said June of next year. Haven't been able to find out why yet.

As much as I hate to see this get delayed...I imagine its for a good reason.

I hate when devs rush a game just to meet a deadline. Its much better if they release it "when its ready".

WHY!?!? So close to having a game I was waiting for that wasn't gonna be pushed into next year. And here we are. Next Activision will be saying CODMW2 will be delayed. Then Naughty Dog with Uncharted 2. Nothing left to look forward to other than NBA 2k10.
