Wolfenstein pulled from German retailers

One of these Nazis is not like the other.
In one of the stranger cases of product recall, iD and Raven's new Nazi-killing FPS, Wolfenstein, has been pulled from German store shelves. Why? The Nazis, of course.
Apparently, German law mandated that all Nazi imagery -- specifically swastikas -- were removed from the Wolfenstein game. Of course, one or two slipped through, and now Activision is being forced to take the game off of retailer shelves.
German gaming source 4players.de reports "Although it is not a conspicuous element in the normal game can also best be seen in the short term, we have decided to take this game immediately from the German market."
If this minor controversy will have any affect on the final German sales figures... well, we'll just have to wait and see.

I guess it's a wound that will probably never heal. I think it was a good idea. I wonder if they're going to fix it and re-release it...

What a bunch o puss*es! Come on, although WW2 was bad it's still a part of their history just like slaves in America (but then again slaves were in other places too) but this is like turning your head and pretending it don't exist which is wrong. WW2 was horrible as any war is but besides the Nazis you also had Pearl Harbor, first use of the Atomic bomb all horrible things but with history we learn we shouldn't turn our heads and pretend it don't exist. Look at today, we are friends with the Japanees and on ok terms with Russia working together. The point is we should never forget, accept what happened and learn from it.

That's good that they have those laws. Keeps the history from being watered down or becoming in any way acceptable.

I couldn't agree more. What are people supposed to think? It's just an American shooting poor innocent Germans in the game? While they're at it why don;t they ban the Nazi Uniforms as well? Put all the Nazi soldiers in civilian clothes.
This is lameness.

I live in Germany and i won't buy this game simply for the fact that there are better games out there.
Couldn't care less if it had swastikas or inverted crosses on that game.
