Dark Void delayed to 2010 'to avoid competition'
- July 30, 2009 00:00 AM PST
Another day, another delay, as Dark Void jet-packs its way to the 2010 delayed games club.
It must be delay-a-game month, because there has been a serious number of games that have been delayed within the past couple of weeks. Now, you can add the jet-packing action title Dark Void to the list as Capcom announced today that they would be delaying the game to 2010 "to avoid competition." Lame.
The game was originally slated to come out by the end of September 2009 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but is now expected to arrive sometime between January 1 and March 31, 2010.
While I'm sure there is more to it than fear of compeition, no other statements have been revealed on the subject of the delay. But, we'll try and keep you posted should anything pop up.

Well at least Capcom has the balls to admit that there's too many great/well-known games coming out this year to do well against. It's just smart business sense. You really can't blame them for that even though it does suck.

I do not get this, at all. All of these Developers are delaying their games till 2010 to "Avoid Competition", and essentially they are accomplishing absolutely NOTHING since everyone is doing the same thing and all the games that they were trying to run away from are being delayed until the same time in 2010 as well.
So, in reality, they are going to end up releasing their games right next to all of the other delayed games anyway.......What's the point then?

in a way is good to many games at once sucks dont have enough time to play them all. What they should do is a a good game come out every month to 2 months to actually enjoy it

guess they would rather release a game with a mess of other delayed games then to put it up against AC2 and MW2

lmao..all these games gettin delayed just tells me that these games are just average at best... most of these gamees are new IP's...in 2010 they are gonna have to deal with GoW3,Mass Effect 2,Bioshock 2,..even new ..more hyped stuff like Heavy Rain..and others i cant think of right now....either way..i think most these game that are delayed will be just average run of the milll stuff....Bioshock 2 being delayed pissed me off the most..but at same time it makes more sense then the others...adding multiplayer to a hit game that didnt have multiplayer needs to be tweaked alot...not to mention living up to the killer main single player game....the rest are just.....filler......

Makes sense to me, COD Modern Warfare 2 alone is gonna knock them off the shelf. I will be one of the few out there that isn't buying COD Modern Warfare 2. If Bioshock 2 and Modern Warfare 2 came out at the same time I would buy Bioshock 2. But ask the same question to millions of people??? Although Bioshock 2 is looking to have really fun online gameplay! So I'm glad they are taking more time with the game. If Bioshock online does well I bet DLC will be coming!!!

I think they mean this, "Infinity Ward will trounce us like Return of the King did when it opened with Master & Commander." That is what these other developers and publishers need to do... quit kidding themselves.
