BREAKING: Halo Reach will be Bungie's last Halo game

CONFIRMED: There will be no more Halo games from series creator Bungie after Halo: Reach, who reveal that "after Reach, that's it for us."

In an interview with IGN UK, Bungie's Lars Bakken confirmed that the team will be not be making any more Halo video games after the next two upcoming titles, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. Bakken reveals that Halo: Reach will be the last Halo game from them, and he also mentions that Bungie is already working on a brand new video game franchise.
"After Reach that's it for us. We're already working on a new IP that we can't talk about yet, I don't know when we'll be talking about it - when we're ready I suppose." -Lars Bakken

Oh and finally. I love Halo but its about time Bungie made a new game. Its gonna be great.

I agree that it's time for Bungie to move on from Halo. There isn't too much more they can bring to the table with the Halo story,plus I've seen all the good that Bungie can do for video games (Smuggler's Run) so I'm interested to see what else they can come up with.

They are done making Halo games, but there is still alot of Halo content that will be coming our way. The Forunner Trilogy, Halo Legends, Halo Cronicles, and i'm still crossing my fingers for The Halo Movie. Its going to happen, it has to. There will be many more after this and I can't wait to experience them all.

343 Industries will oversee any new Halo projects after Reach. 343 is lead by former Bungie employee Frank (I forgot his last naMe). oH WELL who cares?! It's all bout Killzone, and call of duty!! hahahaa

So ODST and REACH are probly the last 360 Bungie exclusives aswell. The new franchise mention will probly be for ps3 aswell.

And halo wars will continue since it wasn't made by bungie. i wonder if any halo games will got to ps3 though.

Yeah just because Bungie is done with Halo doesn't mean that Halo is over. I can see a lot more games coming our way, as Triller said. Remember that Halo Wars was Ensemble Studios. And yeah Bungie really does need to move on. But now for the big question: what is it?
The obvious first choice is going to be some kind of new FPS game/series, but who knows. Heck Bethesda (arguably the king of American RPG's, competing with Bioware) has made adventure, racing, and I believe even a few sports/fps/tps games...
