BLACK NINTENDO WII REVEALED: Take a look at the black edition of the Nintendos Wii video game console pictured here.

Joystiq reports that a black version of the Nintendo Wii will go on sale in Japan August 1, 2009. In addition to the console being changed from white to glossy, PlayStation 3-esque black, the Wii Remote also comes in this new color. While the Nunchuk is not pictured in the Japanese Amazon.com page selling the black Wiis, we assume it will also be black.
There's still no word yet when and if the jet black Nintendo Wii will be sold in the U.S., but GamePro will keep you posted.
UPDATE: No, the black Wii is not coming to the U.S. Nintendo's official response was that there are "no plans" to bring it State-side, so there may be hope for it in the long run.

that looks so much better than a white Wii. they should of been black to begin with. it really brings out the blue LED in it.

I'm repurchasing a Wii soon. I'm definitely picking this up.
There's a website out there that uses a black Wii as part of their background. I can't think of it. I guess the design has been out for awhile. Glad to see Nintendo is finally producing and selling this color.
Oh I know! I think Swoopo ads use a black Wii to promote their 'sold for $17'.

That looks really nice! I already have a White wii though. If they bring it to the US I may give my white one to my mom because she loves wii fit and pick up a black for myself.

From my understanding, the elite 360's are black. Have you seen the RE 5 bundles (red 360)?
