EA is rolling out some pretty hefty DLC packs for its famous boxing sim. Read on to find out what you'll be getting!
Recent recipient of the Game Critics Award for "Best Sports Game of E3", Fight Night Round 4 looks to be ready for a pair of upcoming DLC packs slated for the next two months, which should be music to any fan of the sweet science's ears.
I know he's a good boxer, but Sugar Ray's music is terrible. Oh, they're completely different people?
The first pack is slated to release in early August and will include several cool new features. No price point has been announced for the DLC, so we're hoping it's free. Some of the features that'll be associated with this DLC pack are: a new training gym, new game sliders and a bevy of new equipment for personalizing your pugilist will be made available to you. Added bonus for Xbox 360 users as they will also receive a special alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard courtesy of... Pizza Hut?
Sure, why the hell not?
Due out in early September is their second, and free, DLC pack which will focus on alternative controls for both the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game. These alternative controls will map punches to the face buttons on your controller allowing you to throw a jab, hook, haymaker and uppercut with the four buttons on the right hand side of your controller. This should make anybody who was a fan of the now defunct Knockout Kings happy assuming they couldn't make the jump to the sweet "Total Punch Control" system

WOW! WE WANT INNOVATION, WE WANT INNOVATION!!!! (Whispers) not really, we just want to sound progressive. Not directing this at any one person but.... isn't the nature of gaming and gamers is to evolve and use technology that is available to create a more involved gaming experience. Oh well. See you guys online.

I'm glad that they're finally going to allow for use of the buttons but still it should've been included from the start.

changing controllers is evolving, but changing controls on the same controller is being stupid. It's not new technology stupid, it's FORCING you to play how they want you to.

Again, easy killer. Not once did I mention new technology; I said available technology. I was referring to growth through change. Yeah, it's the same controller, but introducing a new (not really new, it was used in last FN) way to play is a form of growth and evolution in gaming. Otherwise a person is just playing a prettied up version of Knockout Kings. Lastly, I don't insult anyone here. Please don't come at me like that. Don't call me stupid. You have no idea how intelligent or unintelligent I am. We're all gamers here. Don't get yourself all worked up over a subject that doesn't affect your life in the grand scheme of things.

It's the industry everybody's taxing. I've only played this game a couple of times since I bought it.

To each his own. I love this game, once I got the "newer" TPC down (the abbreviated body punches w/o the trigger).

Maybe everyone will stop crying about the controls now. Forget that it is a much better game in general.
