Miyamoto tells fans to wait for new Kid Icarus game

In the closest thing we've seen to a confirmation of the game, Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto has told fans to "Wait, please," when asked about Kid Icarus.
GoNintendo has reportedly found a very telling line in a Nintendo Power interview with famed developer Shigeru Miyamoto. When asked at E3 about the long-dormant Kid Icarus series, Miyamoto replied:
Wait, please. I'm really surprised how popular that is. But you are the first person to ask at this E3!
The last dedicated Kid Icarus game was the 1992 Game Boy title Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. With the recent appearance of the game's hero, Pit in Super Smash Bros Brawl, and the release of the original NES Kid Icarus on the Wii's Virtual Console, it seems as though the character may be experiencing a resurgence of popularity.
Uh, yay? It sounds like Nintendo is semi-promising to perhaps consider the possibility of thinking about a new Kid Icarus game. That's more than they've committed to Mother 3, at least.

He should make a Mario game that's similar to Mario 64, but with better graphics, and it could take place in space or something.

Why the heck should a developer work on a game the consumers want. They'd work on stuff nobody wants to play on a system that can't handle serious gaming.

The Wii can have a serious game its just that nobody will make one.

im with ya bro . with the turn out of how ass the conduit is ( seriously , watch some review ) , im losing all the hope i have left ( like that's saying much ) .

Never really cared for Kid Icarus that much, but I do care about 1st and 2nd party titles for Wii. Seems like Nintendo are the only ones that can make decent games for Nintendo systems. Conduit is a good game, but not great, and it pales in comparison to Metroid Prime 3. So any news of 1st party games for Wii is good news.
