Nintendo's controversial 'Demo Play' to grace DS as well

Nintendo's "Demo Play" will be making its way to their portable systems in the near future.

Back in June, Miyamoto confirmed that "Demo Play," the new controversial "help feature" for gaming would make its way to the New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The reaction was definitely mixed, but it appears the "help feature" won't stand alone on Nintendo's big consoles however, as today in a blurb on Japan's Nikkei, it was revealed that 'Demo Play" will be featured in portable games in the future.

DS games are set to get the 'Demo Play' help feature.

Nikkei referred to "Demo Play" as a "skip functionality" or "skip feature," but most notably it mentioned that the feature is designed for "high-speed action games." This presumably means that you won't have your Brain Age puzzles solved for you (though some of us could definitely use it. I'm tired of you shaking your head at me Dr. Kawashima! You hear me? Cilantro you jerk!...sorry), but you may have some help with say, some future Mario DS titles.

Expect New Super Mario Bros. Wii and "Demo Play" to arrive sometime around this holiday season.

How is it "controversial"? It's just a simple application that isn't even required for hardcore gamers like myself. I would only use this feature once I beat a game, just to see if the computer did something differently. But it's definitely not something thats being forced down my throat.

I know the Demo Play is optional, but the fact you can let the game beat itself is so stupid.

With a Great Story and Great Visuals This will make for a Great Experience . Oh wait,. this is on Wii? forget I said anything,... This is for Kids who can't play/beat games, a new way to keep ADD kids amused

kiddies? Man My kids who were 6 & 5 at the time Beat Super Mario Galaxy all by themeselves out of all the 242 stars(121 Mario, 121 Luigi) I only had to get about 20(less then actually) for them they flew through it with Luigi in less then a week of playign it for like 2 hrs at most each afternoon for a week.

IMO people who need this shouldnt evne be gaming

While I would never use it, I can understand the concept behind it. Everyone has gotten to a level where they get frustrated, get some kind of block, can't beat it for whatever reason. Yeah, demo play is for kids so that they don't get turned off from gaming at an early age because they were frustrated.
