New Max Payne 3 screens are action-packed

Rockstar Vancouver unveiled some new screenshots from their highly anticipated title, Max Payne 3, which features the new (or should I say old?) Max, doing what he does best.
Recently, there has been some speculation floating around as to what the new Max Payne title will include, outside of a beer belly and a shiny new head. Today, Rockstar Vancouver unveiled some new screen shots from the game, featuring the king of bullet time in his new setting.
While it can't officially be confirmed that the setting for Max's new adventure will be exactly Sao Paulo, Brazil, as originally rumored, the surrounding certainly looks tropical and the action that comes with it looks like a warm, bullet-riddled "welcome home" sign from Max.
The game, set 10-12 years after the events from Max Payne 2, Max Payne 3 will hit stores later this winter on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

It's...different. Not exactly what I expected the game to look like, but i'll give it a try.
Still, i'm not a fan of Max's new look. He looks more like a generic action hero and less like the noir, "hardboiled" cop I knew and loved.

On the cover of the new Game Informer there is a full frontal shot and he kinda looks like the big dope from the old television show Nightcourt, Richard Moll.
What's up with that?

Wow...sounds like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I'm not saying the game's going to suck because it looks different. For all I know it could become GOTY material. I'm just saying that I was a big fan of the darker, edgier look of the previous games, and that's not what i'm seeing here. These are the first screen shots, so of course i'm going to say something about the visuals. It's all we have right now. Once I see actual gameplay footage, then i'll comment on that, and it'll probably kick ass knowing Rockstar.
So settle down and don't judge people by their comments that you take out of context.

You both have good points. What made me a fan of Max Payne was the dark look, and his character's commentating and voice acting. He was witty and edgy. There wasn't a game like Payne. I do think it is funny you aren't sure if you want to play just because of the way he looks. That is just silly.

If you read what I posted, you'll see it says "but i'll give it a try". I never once said I was not going to play it because of how it looked. I meant that my first impression of the game is concern over the drastic change in the kind of look that made Max Payne a fan favorite.

So Max Payne is now a white Rick Ross? I liked the old Max Payne character. Whatever happened to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
