Hidden away among the other gems Microsoft showed at its E3 press conference, Crackdown 2's debut trailer has Agents readying themselves for battle against a new, mutating threat.

Without any gameplay to speak of, it was easy to gloss over Crackdown 2's debut cinematic trailer at Microsoft's press conference earlier in the week, but the return of the Agency and its superhuman Agents demands our rapt attention. The voice of the Agency tells us that the city has become infected with a new menace. What's the infection? Well, that's what video is for. Take a look, then come back to us below.

Though it's a little unclear, we're willing to bet that's a werewolf at the end, and the potential for an enemy that can leap tall buildings in single bounds as easily as you do is enough to make an Agent think twice about roaming the city streets alone. Thankfully, Microsoft has let slip that Crackdown 2 will feature 4-player co-op and 16-man multiplayer. About time.
