At their late afternoon E3 press conference, Konami announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, a reboot of the franchise spearheaded by Hideo Kojima.
Though Hideo Kojima has been busy all week, bouncing from press conference to press conference and announcing all new Metal Gear Solid games, he saved several of those announcements for his company's own briefing this afternoon. We'd heard about Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker; what else did he have in store?
The answer is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. In a mask-filled trailer narrated by Patrick Stuart, Konami revealed the long-awaited revitalization of the series, due out on both Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010. Developed by MercurySteam and spearheaded by Hideo Kojima himself, Konami is hoping that the open-world Lords of Shadow will give gamers a fresh look at a classic franchise. We hope so too, Hideo!

This is going to be interesting. But if Castlevania suddenly has 20 minute long cut scenes with no way to skip them I am going to shoot Kojima.

As long as we don't have a Drebin like character that has a pet that is a SIGNIFICANT waste of my time, I'm fine with cutscenes in Castlevania.

I am almost convinced that Hideo Kojima hates Nintendo, when was the last time he made a game for a Nintendo console without being asked to do it(Twin Snakes)?

It kind of looks like most other 3rd person action games with giant creatures; looks very God of War-like. I was hoping for something more unique. I might as well complain about it being a rewrite of a dusty, old, overused IP while I am at it, since no one else will as this isn't a game made by Nintendo, and people only complain about them.
