Team ICO presents in-game footage of The Last Guardian

Long recognized as "Trico," the last of the Ico trilogy now has a name and a heart-stopping in-game video.

The fact that this is in-engine blows us away.

The fact that this is in-engine blows us away.

Most gamers who've played Shadow of the Colossus will tell you it's the best-looking game on the PS2, hands-down. They'll try to describe it to you -- its gameplay, its visuals, it's unknowable uniqueness -- but they'll go quiet, unable to speak. Then they'll track down a PS2 so they can show you for themselves what it is about that game that makes it so wonderful.

It should come as no surprise, then, that when we realized the cinematic we were watching for its sequel was all being rendered in-game, our jaws slammed, very painfully, onto the floor.

Though we still know virtually nothing about The Last Guardian (aside from the fact that you are a young boy with a feathered dragon for a pet), we don't mind. Not a soul on earth can watch this trailer without feeling something pang their heartstrings. So go ahead and enjoy it; once you're done, we'll be waiting, with all our E3 coverage to keep you company.

It looks good but the visuals for the kid don't match the rest of the game.
