President of Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer took the stage at E3 on Monday to give us a taste of what we can expect from Brutal Legend and reveal some of the metal-studded cast.
Brutal Legend, the new game behind Day of the Tentacles and Psychonauts creator Tim Schafer was showcased on Monday at this years E3. Shafer took the stage, stating that:
Brutal Legend takes its inspiration from the world of rock and heavy metal, and it takes its soundtrack from the greatest albums of that genre, it takes its imagery from the most crazy album covers and the lyrics of those songs give it its story and its epic lore.
Get ready, as the Prince of Darkness himself will help you along your quest in Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend.
Shafer went on to reveal how the game worked as a dream-come-true project for himself, as he got to meet many of his teenage idols and put them into the game. Other than Jack Black starring as the heroic and rockin' Eddie Riggs, such notable names that will take part in the epic metal adventure are:
Judas Priest's Rob Halford as the Baron (leader of a biker gang called the fire-barons) and General Lionwhyte (Leader of the hair metal militia, who uses his fabulous hair to fly). Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister as a motorcycle-driving bass guitarist and healer called Kill Master. The Runaways Lita Ford as Queen Rima And the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne as the Guardian of Metal.
A new trailer for the game was shown along with a special message from Jack Black. You can check out the full presentation here:
Brutal Legend is set for release later this "Rocktober" and will be released on both Xbox and PS3 systems.
