Kojima reveals 'Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker' for PSP, which features not one, but four Snakes

During Sony's press conference today, Hideo Kojima, fresh off of surprising us with a Metal Gear title for the Xbox 360 yesterday, unveiled Metal Gear: Peace Walker for the PSP, ending speculation on that infamous Big Boss teaser image.

Another day, another Metal Gear as E3 is shaping up to become Hideo Kojima's playground. Yesterday, Kojima surprised the gaming community by announcing a new game, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, for the Xbox 360. That game ended speculation as to the curious Raiden teaser image, as it was revealed that Raiden will be the protagonist of Rising.

Today, Kojima officially announced, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP. The game is set to take place ten years after Metal Gear Solid 3, chronicling the rise of Outer Heaven in the 1970's, ending speculation on whether or not that Big Boss teaser image was indeed of him. Well, looks like it is him, only, there is about four different versions of him on screen at at the same time, garnering the reaction: Whhhaaaaaatttttt??????

Kojima made it clear that he was deeply involved in the creative process of the game, writing and producing it, and having the team from MG4 working on Peace Walker ensuring that the game is not a spin-off or side story, but true Metal Gear Solid canon. From the trailer released, it looks like the gameplay will take a more traditional sneaking approach as opposed to the heavy gunplay found in Guns of the Patriots.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is due out in 2010 for the PSP.

THE VERDICT by Sean Mirkovich Sean Mirkovich's Avatar "Colonel, what the hell's going on!?" Another Metal Gear? Outer Heaven? Four Naked Snakes? I'm game. This years E3 is like Christmas for fans of Kojima and crew. Can't wait to see what they unveil tomorrow. Kojima? Kojima? KOJIMAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After watching the trailer it looks like the 'PeaceWalker' is the name of this game's 'Metal Gear'. Deturrents as a means of preventing war seems to be the main theme with this game. Knowing Kojima, this game (like all other MGS games) will carry some sort of ironic lesson to be learned from history (i.e. Deturrents starting wars). It would be great also if they ported this to the PS2. The multiple naked snakes is probably the multiplayer end of the game.

I personally would have preferred a remake of MG1 or MG2. But oh well, at least the game is cannon (unlike acid which=gay)

I am going to get this game. I am a fan of MGS and I also love Origin Stories. Looks like pretty soon they will remake Metal Gear when you Solid Snake as a rookie i am just saying its a theory. A good Theory because that would be a good idea. And four Snakes at once now those are some deadly snakes. And the voice in the video sounds like Sokolovs voice, I think it is. One more thing i wonder if this game has blood and if the game will be exploring like MGS plat former games or will it be like the MGS Portable Ops where you choose a place to search and have fun. I guess time will tell.
