Square Enix announces Final Fantasy XIV Online

That's right, you didn't read it wrong. Final Fantasy XIV is coming, exclusively to the PlayStation 3 and PC, in 2010. And guess what: it's an online game.
Final Fantasy is going online once again. The planet Eorzea will play host to an all-new massively-multiplayer online role playing game crafted by the masters at Square Enix. We don't know much else beyond that, but we can show you the teaser trailer we saw at E3. Enjoy, and salivate along with the rest of us!

This will be an MMORPG as FFXi. If one has ever played FFXI, you will notice the same Elvaan, Galka, Hume. I did not see any Tarus or Mithra though. Additionally, this will not be exclusive for the PS3. As a long time FFXI player, i know SE wants as many people on as possible online. I will be getting this on all three consoles (PC, PS3, and 360) when available as I did for FFXi.

EPIC FAIL!!!!!! Microsoft scored XIII.....So what if Sony gets XIV? That'll probably be released by 2015 and Microsoft will probably get it in 2016. A new PSP that gets rid of the spendy components, and it costs more?
The only Sony game Im interested in is mag, but really....Im a PC gamer so its not like im missing out on good FPS games anyway.
Unless Sony can really impress, I think MS took E3, again.

Wasn't Final Fantasy XIV announced for 2010??? ?where did 2015, 2016 came from?? anyway if it's an online MMo rpg. why would SE choose PS3 over 360 as the lead platform?? either way good news for me. PS3 is the best system out there and this E3 showed it.. Wohoo!

The initial Sony release had nothing to do with the PS3. The PC version will come out FIRST!
Sony has to work with MS for XBOX Live integration.

Dude, I totally agree. My Ps3 box has Final Fantasy whatever on the side. It might as well be a milk carton. I have a launch Ps3. Oh well, Can't wait for the Apple conference!!!!!!!!!!

This was great news for Sony, i can't wait to play Final Fantasy XIV, because it's made by the same team who made Final Fantasy XI.. i remember reading Square Enix had plans of porting over a MMO Final Fantasy, but it looks like they changed there minds, anyway Sony was right this was a block buster announcement. it sure got everyone talking
My only fears is that 2010 is still a year away, and well Square Enix could bring this over to XBox 360 some time in 2011?, everyone knows XBox Live has a bigger base then PSN, so i couldn't be surprise if Square Enix has a change of plans. because they did the same thing for Final Fantasy XIII and now look what happen. still like i was saying before what a great move by Sony
You know current XBox 360 fanboys would be asking for this
