You loved him in 2D, you loved him in 3D, and you really loved him in space. Now Mario's back, and he's brought Yoshi with him!
It's time for Mario to head back into the sky!
Before signing off of its press conference, Nintendo threw showgoers for a loop with its surprise look at Super Mario Galaxy 2: the sequel to one of the Wii's most beloved games. A true sequel to the first galactic romp, Galaxy 2 will bring along Yoshi for Mario's ride through the stars. Gameplay will be similar to the first Galaxy, but the sequel promises all-new, mind-twisting puzzles with gravity pulling our red plummer friend in just about every direction.
Nintendo's E3 face, Reggie Fils-Aime, has confirmed that Galaxy 2 will be released in 2010. Speculation says it'll be a summer hit, so here's hoping Yoshi's ready for us!

And GP had the guts to call Nintemdo's conference "depressing" No wonder there is no "Verdict" here.

Mario Galaxy, the 1st one is such an amazing game, but I get depressed when I play it, but that's because when I 1st got it I was recovering from an operation, and my mind makes the connection. I think gamepro is trying to brain wash the readers by saying over and over that Nintendo's press conference was depressing, etc. Taking into account other articles, I seriously believe they have an agenda.

Gamepro has no agenda, just truth. Nothing Nintendo showed stood out, just the same old rewrites of Metroid and SMG. Nothing jaw dropping. The only reason I own a Wii right now is to play the Conduit, thats it...disagree with me? Your a fanboy then. Fit is corny and the library of games is very poor.
The show stopper this year was "natal"....bottom line!

As much as I love Halo online they are even rewriting now, can they make a game with different enemies and a few bossess? Or continue to make the same creatures etc...my fear is the industry is losing unique ideas.

Just because people think there is more to play on the Wii besides The Conduit doesn't make them "fanboys"; it makes you a closed minded fool. And I didn't see anything jaw dropping at the other keynotes as far as games. Yet another Metal Gear Solid. Whoppie. Yet another God of War. Wowie. Yet another Gran Tourismo. Yippie. Yet another Final Fantasy. Yawn. Yet another Halo. Zzzzz. Yet another Splinter Cell. Hmmm. Yet another Modern Warfare. Hu-hum. Yet another Assassin's Creed. Same old rewrites, but I don't see you whining about that. Maybe if you weren't so closed minded, you'd be able to enjoy many more games than just The Conduit. There's more to games than first person shooters, you know?
As far as Nintendo's keynote being depressing...as far as pizazz and energy, Nintendo's was definitely the dullest of the three. But as far as games I am interested in, Nintendo's was my favourite, though Sony had a game or two that looked interesting (ModNation Racers). I wasn't impressed with their tech demo of their "wand"; it doesn't do much more than MotionPlus can do as far as motion. And if Natal ends up implementing a controller at some point too, then it will be king for it's ability to track the object in your hand as well as how you're moving your body.
