EA showcased one of their upcoming games, The Saboteur today at E3 and with it came some interesting gameplay footage, pushing the title further to be one of games to look out for later this year.
At the briefing, EA first ran a trailer that was released a couple of days ago, then dove into the heart of the gameplay. You play as Sean Devlin, an Irishmen seeking revenge against the Nazi's. In the game, as a saboteur, you sneak around in an open-world environment, similar to GTA, trying to eliminate the Nazi occupation of France. In an interesting twist on the gameplay mechanics, occupied areas will be featured in black and white, and will only turn into color after you have eliminated the Nazi threat.
Since it is open world, you will have the opportunity to scale buildings, drive vehicles, plant bombs, and all around choose how you want to play out the adventure. A quick tip to those interested, apparently if you are trying to escape a Nazi pursuit, you can find sanctuary in brothels. When the threat is gone and you're ready to leave, Sean zips up his pants and goes on his way.
The Saboteur is set for release on December 31, 2009.
