DLC is no longer restricted to add-ons and patches; Microsoft is introducing full downloadable blockbuster games to the service.
We just got the word from Sid Shuman, one of GamePro's pairs of eyes at E3, that Microsoft will be introducing full downloadable games from Xbox Live starting in August. By simply using your credit card and bypassing the whole Microsoft Points net, you'll be able to grab titles like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and Civilization Revolution digitally.
Microsoft tells us that new games will be available for download every week, for prices that should compare to those of retail boxes. Those of you without a GameStop nearby: rejoice!

I highly doubt I will be using this feature because I like to own physical objects when I buy something. This is great news! A smart move to fight GameStop.

What about problems with playing the games smoothly from the HD drive as opposed from a DVD? Have those been resolved?

This and they also added the option of installing games to your hard drive a while back. When I get my 360, I hope there will be a bigger hard drives announced for August aswell.
