Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle adds Wii controls for Metroid Prime 1 and 2

Today, Nintendo revealed that on August 24th, fans of the infamous bounty hunter Samus Aran will be able to get their hands on a Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle, featuring new Wii adapted controls for the previous Gamecube installments.

Fans of the first and second Metroid Prime, which came out for the Gamecube in 2002 and 2006, will now be able to play as their favorite power suit rolling bounty hunter once again, with all new Wii motion controls, as Nintendo announces a Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle coming to the Wii console on August 24th.

New Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle for Wii, Gamecube games feature new Wii controls

Buckle up, as a Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle blasts it's way onto the Wii console this August.

Nintendo has stated that "each game maintains its original storyline and settings" as most of the new changes were made to the controls and graphics. The new Wii motion controls for Prime 1 and 2 will be similar to those used in 2007's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which was exclusive for the Nintendo Wii and will be included in the bundle. Also featured within the trilogy compilation will be new unlockable rewards, including music and artwork.

The bundle is set to be priced at $49.99, and will feature all three games on one disc.

I WANT NEW AND ORIGINAL GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SilentGhosteye

I already have metriod prime 3 for Wii, and 1 and 2 for gamecube? Why would I want to buy another copy of each one? Especially 3. They should just have the first 2 for a much cheaper price.

Forerunners_Ghost

Same here Ghosteye. But I miss Prime 1 and 2. Its a pain in the ass to disconnect the wii and reconnect the GC and vice versa. Also, I broke my GC controller playing SW Bounty hunter. Damn Bando Gora!

Toneman

Most Wii owners didn't have a gamecube... so it's no surprise they want to sell more copies of those fantastic GC games... but I allready have Metroid 3, will they sell 1 and 2 seperately for Wii?

Toneman

Wow! All 3 games on 1 disc! And they've updated the graphics on the first 2... that's pretty crazy! Guess Nintendo won't need Blu-Ray for a while huh!

The12P

That is a really good price if you don't have any of the games. I have the first two on Gamecube but I still need 3. I also hope that music and artwork are not the only unlockable on the disc because those are pretty useless.

snipes1183

If they're going to just re-release games with updated motion controls, they might as well take it to the nest level. If you're not going to make an original game, remake Metroid and Super Metroid!!! All of these Gamecube hybrids aren't worth it to me because I already own them. Even with the $30 price tag it's still not appealing to me. They need more original games if they want to pull me away from my 360 and PS3!
