Develop Magazine reports that developers were briefed during GDC 2009 about Sony's plans for a PSP rental service.

It's not the first time we've heard inklings of changes Sony could be making with the next iteration of the PSP, and the rumors keep ramping up while we wait until E3 2009 (where Sony hopefully drops a bomb about what the new PSP is all about). The latest reports circulating the web are about the possibility of a PSP rental service that would enable users to subscribe to a monthly service to "rent" PSP games through PSN. Other reports have revealed that Sony sent out a questionnaire to PSP users to gauge interest in a PSP rental service. If all these things turn out to be the real deal, PSP fans may be in for quite a new take on mobile gaming very soon.

this is one of the best news i've heard coming to E3 !!! game rental service straight from sony is what ive always wanted . hell , people could and would go sign up for a real subscription for real game than actually going through complicated ( or not ) hack to pirate game . the more easy you make , the less pirating (IMO ).

That is absolutely genius. I cannot believe no ones thought of this before. We're talking about full-game rentals via download right? Absolutely, genius.

KILLPEOPLE

Depends on price, how long you get to keep the game, etc. Damn, I just like to download the FREE demos. Rent then Keep it? Sounds like Gamefly on the fly

i got a survey from PSN people!
it asked which ones i liked better: buying umds or buying umds from PSN.
