Ubisoft: 450 employees making Assassin's Creed 2

Ubisoft revealed today that they have 450 employees devoted to making Assassin's Creed 2 bigger and better than the first. Three times bigger and better in fact.

It seems Ubisoft is really trying to make the most out of their sequel to 2007's smash hit, Assassin's Creed, by hiring over 450 employees, (75 percent of which are the original team behind Assassin's Creed) to devote their time and energy into making it the best game that they can.

"The team's size for the second title of Assassin's Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game," said producer Sebastien Puel to NowGamer.com. "Making [Assassin's Creed] from A to Z took around four years...it's a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin's Creed. They know the project very well."

Puel went on to address flaws and new innovations to Assassin's Creed 2. He mentioned that on the first game they had "thousands of ideas" that they "didn't implement" but will now be integrating into this next installment.

Assassin's Creed 2, which takes on a new Renaissance Venice setting, is set for release later this year during the holiday season and will be available on "all current-generation platforms."

After all the marketing the first A.C got it only turned out to be mediocre. Hopefully this one will be better.

450 people working on a game don't mean shit to a gamer. Just make a game that we all wanna play Ubi Soft!

To me, 450 employees just means they're rushing to meet a deadline... which is NOT good.

I agree. I prefer Blizzard's approach: it's done when it's done and we're are happy with the product. All the same though, hopefully this is a good thing.

450 people! Well there either trying to put as much content in as they can before release or there in a rush but who knows really why there using that many people. Lets just hope that this game turns out good.

Or they are going every last detail with a fine tooth comb. Big Hollywood movies can employ thousands when all is said and done. The bigger games get, the more money they make and the more people can be hired. I wouldn't worry about them rushing this, I am sure they have learned from the last one.
