New Kojima game ad appears to have Solid Snake's face in clouds

A new video game from the makers of Metal Gear Solid is teased in a Japanese magazine. The mysteriously bare ad appears to have some hidden images in it, including the face of Metal Gear series' protagonist Solid Snake.

New Kojima game ad appears to have Solid Snake's face in clouds

A forum member on GameTrailers has posted an ad from a unspecified Japanese video game magazine that teases a new game from Metal Gear Solid makers Kojima Productions. The curiously barren two-page advertisement (pictured above) shows a grassy field with storm clouds above it and a message teasing an upcoming announcement on May 18, 2009 which will appear on www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next once the site is launched on that date.

The forum member who posted the image of the ad, hweita, also had some interesting observations and interpretations of the secretive game ad.

  • A shape resembling Solid Snake's face can be seen in the clouds. He appears to be lying down.
  • The clouds in the ad are rain clouds and "Raiden" in Japanese means storm.

    I don't see a face either. I think folks are trying to see something that ain't there. Still looking forward to see what this announcement is on the 18th.

    I see the face... it's like he's lying down... and his face is pointing up... Right above the 2009... like it shows in the little pic.... but where is his cigarette? Anyway, MGS4 was freakin great... so I'm hoping for a MGS5 announcement. And if it goes to 360 as well, good for the XBots!

    no way that mgs5 is coming
    but definitly an expansion pack
    so thats why its called MGS4 guns of the patriots..
    now the second one will be MGS4 .... ... .. watsoever

    it's pretty clear to see his head, the people that can't just have no imagination, and can't make something simple like the face in the cloud out. Maybe snake is finally dead, and in the clouds and with the raiden storm thing, he will be the next main character.
