Skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk revealed via Twitter that the next game to bear his visage will be revealed this Friday on GameTrailers.
This is not the next Tony Hawk game, but I loved T&C Surf Designs.
Joystiq brings word that Tony Hawk has put up a Twitter update today hinting at a Friday reveal of the next title in the Tony Hawk franchise. In an update earlier today, Hawk stated "May 15 all will be revealed about our new game (dropping this year). I have been harboring the secret long enough." which is then followed by a link to the GameTrailers TV page. Presumably, that means the game's debut will come on that evening's episode of GameTrailers TV, which airs on Spike TV.
The new title will be the tenth game in the Tony Hawk series, and the first to come in over a year, as Activision did not release a new Tony Hawk game in 2008, the first year the company has skipped since the franchise started. Two major shakeups look to be coming to the franchise, as Joystiq has reported that the game will not use a controller, and GiantBomb has noted out that Neversoft, developer of the first nine games, will not be the team working on this mysterious title.

if it is some sort of skateboard peripheral, i really wouldn't see how it would work... you'd probably pose a danger to those around you by falling off of it or get leg cramps trying to bend down to grab the board

I can't wait to see the THPS. I'd take those gmes over the more realistic Skate anyday. I can have all the fun of Skate without having to concentrate on how to pull off moves.

meh...i gave up on tony hawk games. shit..can't be 15 forever...thank you skate for adding depth to skating games. i'd rather "concentrate on how to do moves" then grind a line that takes me up the side of a giant milkshake, swings around over some cows, knocks over a bus of old ladys, and bunch of other cartoony childish shit.

Haha I definitely agree. THPS4 was the beginning of the end for that franchise.

That's odd when I first saw this on GameTrailers yesterday I could of sworn that they said it would be unveiled on Thursday.
