Puzzle Quest: Galactrix goes live on PlayStation Network

Infinite Interactive's addictive brain teaser-sequel to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords has finally hit the PlayStation Network.

If you've got a PlayStation 3 and $20 burning a hole in your pocket, Infinite Interactive wants you to know that Puzzle Quest: Galactrix went live on PlayStation Network today. This spiritual sequel to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords really took the franchise's Bejeweled-esque roots and turned it on its head with the addition of spaceships and artificial gravity, so it's nice to see that the game's finally made its rounds on all the major consoles, including the DS and Xbox Live version. Gamers can buy it on the PlayStation Network now, so only the iPhone and iPod have yet to see a release date.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix goes live on PlayStation Network

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is like digital crack for puzzle-minded gamers, so spend your time in this universe wisely.

Good luck beating the game, though. Awesome and unpredictable puzzle action aside, the game's vicious (and somewhat psychic) computer A.I. makes Deep Blue look like a wimp.

THE VERDICT by McKinley Noble McKinley Noble's Avatar The first Puzzle Quest was one of the few things that makes me want to buy an iPod Touch or iPhone, and I've pretty much exhausted all the levels on the DS version. Twenty bucks for what could easily be a $50 game ain't bad, though. If you've got a PS3, you should try it.

I love me some Puzzle Quest. Galactrix, though, wasn't so good on the DS -- the load times were BRUTAL. I'll download this tonight and let you know what I think.
