StarCraft 2 beta: Blizzard opens beta registration

Blizzard has opened the floodgates to StarCraft 2 fans to get a chance to be the first to play the highly-anticipated sequel.

StarCraft 2 beta sign-up is officially open

I beta get a chance to play the beta.

Blizzard just dropped a massive bomb on the StarCraft 2 community when they announced via the official World of WarCraft site that they are now accepting opt-ins for the StarCraft 2 beta test. To sign up for the beta, you'll need to go to theBeta Profile Settings on Battle.net (or sign-up here for a Battle.net account) and send Blizzard a snapshot of your system specs. The beta is apparently "coming in the months ahead" according to Blizzard, but if you're a StarCraft fan you'd better get the ball rolling now.

THE VERDICT by Andy Burt Andy Burt's Avatar When I sent the word out about the StarCraft 2 beta, practically the entire office exploded with requests to get in. If that's any indication, this beta test is going to be HOT, so get on it soon for a chance to opt-in.

I couldn't register my old copy of StarCraft fast enough, haha. I just sent them my system specs, which shouldn't hold me back from being invited. The estimated 20 gazillion requests probably will, though.

I just signed up for this. I was lucky enough to be part of the WarCraft 3 Frozen Throne Beta back in 2003.
