Bioware reveals new Mass Effect game coming to the iPhone

Last Friday, in an odd bit of news, Bioware confirmed that a new game that will reveal the back story to the main character of next years Mass Effect 2 will be coming to the iPhone.
It was revealed last Friday that Mass Effect 2, the sequel to Bioware's highly successful Mass Effect, will have a spin-off game entitled Mass Effect: Jacob's Story that will be exclusive to the iPhone. Details reveal that the game will work as a back story for Mass Effect 2's main protagonist: Jacob.
"We were going to announce this, but one of the testers at a focus testing group broke the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and things were revealed before we had the chance," said BioWare community manager Chris Priestly on the company's forums.
As revealed by the leaked survey, the character named Jacob is a "biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope."
The gameplay itself will be a top-down shooter and will include two hours of animated, story-driven content in a cartoony art style. When released, the price for the game is expected to be around $2.99.

Mass Effects new protagonist is named Jacob? Then why the hell do they want you to keep your save files for Shepard? Damn, they are going to kill off mey light and dark charcters.....bastards

Bioware said that the iphone game is "a cool little side-story about one of the upcoming Mass Effect 2 characters" ... to me that doesn't say Jacob is the protagonist of Mass Effect 2.

I've always thought playing games on phone was retarded and still do, why don't they put it on a real handheld that was made to play games, and somethign more people have like the DS or PSP? They would sell a lot more copies

Can't believe people actually buy games for phones...Shit is fuckin' stupid, I'm all for passin' time when ur bored or something when waitin' on someone or waetvea, but games like these are just over the top...
