Mass Effect 2 to appear at E3

In a blog post from the game's executive producer, it was revealed that Mass Effect 2 will be shown at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

IGN.com is delivering the first details about the status of the year's most highly-anticipated RPG, Mass Effect 2, at the year's biggest video game convention, E3. In a blog post on IGN authored by BioWare Executive Producer Casey Hudson, the developer outlined some highlights to look forward to at E3.

Mass Effect 2, which Hudson has termed "the dark second act in the trilogy.," was built with feedback from fans and critics, the end result being a game "bearing so many improvements and exciting content that it feels like it?s straining to break free." It seems like E3 will be the opportunity for Mass Effect 2 to do just that, stating "you can look forward to some incredible new experiences in Mass Effect 2 as the story takes on even larger proportions, along with a ton of gameplay improvements and a return of the things most loved by players of the first game."

Hudson finished his blog by addressing the mysterious debut trailer for the game, which seemed to indicate the death of the first game's protagonist, Commander Shepard. "I?ve heard some rumors that Commander Shepard is dead." commented Hudson. "Better not be. We had a lot of big plans made, so if someone?s gone and killed Shepard then things are going to take an unexpected turn..."

While I'm glad this game will be at the big show, they still haven't revealed in what form. I'm guessing it will be a new trailer or a press conference demo, but I'd prefer if a full version of the game was available exclusively in my hotel room. How about we compromise, BioWare?
