Madden cover to include 2 players for the first time

Every previous Madden game has included one central person--either Madden himself or one of the NFL's star players. This time, two players from rival teams will be sharing the spotlight.
In a shocking twist that only the devious folks at EA Sports could devise, Super Bowl XLIII rivals, Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald are the co-cover athletes for Madden NFL Football 10.
The announcement was made last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the cover poster was reveiled this morning at Times Square in NYC around 8am EDT when Fitzgerald pulled up in his SUV. He raised his mighty hand, and the curtain fell, revealing that not just he, but Pittsburgh's knockout safety Polamalu would face off (literally) for Madden cover dominance.
Afterward, Fitzgerald took some questions. Admitting that he's "not very good" at playing video games. He also said that he's a big fan of "Gears of War 2" and obviously Madden now. And then, just as soon as he arrived, he rode off into the busy NYC morning in the black SUV he arrived in. Surprisingly, no one asked him about the "Madden Curse" and if he took that into consideration. Perhaps EA has figured out a way to break the curse by featuring two athletes, instead of one and thus somehow halving the curse's effects. This is all pure skepticism as no one has officially declared there to be a curse and thus no way to cure said nonexistent curse.
This dual cover however is a perplexing revelation as typically the Madden cover athlete signifies the major focus of that season's iteration. Does this mean significant increases on both sides of the football? Or is it just EA doing something different (like trying to break the curse)?
Regardless, it is a PRETTY sweet cover. I imagine we'll find out more details as the week/weekend progresses. This has been a big week for announcements as yesterday featured the NCAA Football 2010 cover athletes, featuring Michael Crabtree, Mark Sanchez and others. Tomorrow, everything culminates with the NFL Draft, which experts are still perplexed on who will go first (odds are heavily on Mathew Stafford) but everyone does agree on two things: 1. Chris Berman needs a long sleeve shirt and 2; The Lions need to do something drastic, like redrafting Barry Sanders (or an entire offensive line).
We'll have more on this festive weekend as it progresses. For now, this roaming reporter needs to get a little shut eye! Oh, and as the image says, expect Madden '10 in stores August 14th.

Steve Smith is better than Fitz, but the cover is still cool
Drew Brees deserves it more than both Polamalu and Fitz

Sorry man but S.SMith is real good but hes definately no larry fitzgerald. Hes maybe a close number 2 to fitz at best. But if you dont have fitz, smith is definately a solid backup.

Are you high, Fitzgerald has proven beyond a doubt that he is one of the elite at that position! I agree, the cover is way cool! And I agree both deserve the cover. It was one of the most entertaining Superbowls ever!
