Apple's iPhone hasn't even been out for two years yet and already iPhone games, like Metal Gear Solid Touch, Super Monkey Ball, and Wolfenstein 3D are comparable to some games you'd see on the Nintendo DS or Sony PSP.

In a news article on Edge, former Sony Computer Entertainment Europe employee Sebastien Rubens states that he feels the process in which games are developed and submitted to Sony by third party PSP game developers isn't efficient.

Rubens also says that the iPhone's Software Development Kit is superior to the PSP's.

"iPhone's is better. You could make things a lot easier to use, and I come from the software engineering side... ...after that it's a problem of the market and deciding what it wants, including prices for downloadable games, so people know what kind of games to make -- in other words, not a GTA, even if PSP is technically capable of running it, because the economics don't make it worth it. And in the submission process, they're a bit too slow to move." -Sebastien Rubens

THE VERDICT by Patrick Shaw Patrick Shaw's Avatar I don't have an iPhone yet--still rocking this P.O.S. from 1997 that stores up to 20 numbers--but the games I've played on other people's iPhones are impressive. When it comes to software developing for PSP vs. iPhone, I can't really share any insight, but it's still interesting to see the iPhone referenced as doing something better than the PSP.

I have an Iphone and its great but with anything that's great, it comes with a hefty price. My standard iphone plane was $75.99 a month. I upgraded the plan to a unlimited internet connection for $99 minus taxes. Now I'm paying around $1200 a year for a phone. My other not so technically advanced phone was less than $20 a month. Once my plan is done, so is my iphone. Its great, apps are great and always welcomed but you have to pay for some of them too. Iphone is a pricey little bitch.

This guy is going to have problems getting a job in the future if he keeps on running his mouth about his former employers. What are prospective employers gonna think if they read that?

I just bought an iPhone 3G and it is so amazing. The games, the gps, everything. I cannot find one negative about it yet. I much rather download games off the app store and play them than carry a psp or a ds around. I feel like a little kid when i play on a psp or a ds....well the ds is made for kids but still. iPhone ALL the way

hmm..Idk, like most people im thinking that this guy is still pissed that he's not working in sony, but maybe he is making a REAL opinion about psp vs iPhone........i think they are both similar, although ive never played on an iPhone lol

I myself had an Iphone for less then 30 days, loved it but couldnt afford it after seeing the monthly cost. I instead purchased an Ipod Touch which does everything the Iphone does except talking and 3g internet, I get around that by using the Ipod Touches WIFI to connect to my home wireless network, and I love the games on it! It is amazing see 99 cent- $4.99 games with the quality some of them have, and on top of that many times the developers of Ipod Touch games give free updates to improve the games! I will take this over a DS or PSP any day. It is also nice not having to worry about a place to keep my games as they all store directly on the Touch

i wouldn't say that...the i-phone/i-touch aren't built as gaming portable consoles. i play ALOT of new games on my friend's i-Touch, and i can say it is fun, but not as good as the PSP or DS....MGS:Touch was pretty boring, Tap Tap is one of the realy few good games on it.
