Rumor: Shadow of the Colossus going to the big screen

The colossi-filled world of the PS2 game is making a move to the big screen, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Sony's quiet world of giants may be making its way to the silver screen, says the Hollywood Reporter. Oddly enough this would mark the second time the game has appeared in a film. The movie is reported to be helmed by Kevin Misher, of Scorpion King and The Interpreter fame. Justin Marks, who penned Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, is also apparently on board.
With the deluge of movies based on video games being announced recently, a new film based on a game comes as little surprise, but to translate one of the most artistic, subdued games in video game history seems like an odd choice...

I'm not sure I'd even want the food caterer who was attached to the new Street Fighter to go anywhere near this movie. While I wasn't blown away by this game, it deserves a whole lot better than major people behind SF and The Scorpion King. Somehow I don't see them getting across the tranquility and majesty that was present in the game, and I can just imagine a colossus-on-colossus fight being the main draw- after all, who needs to actually pay attention to the source material other than grabbing the name and a few key ideas?

Reign Over Me was a damn good movie. I hope they do make a movie about it, it was an awesome game.

If they make this movie with the look & feel of movies like Legend, LotR, Neverending Story, etc then this one could be epic.

hmm.. im not sure about a movie...although i did enjoy the first game, it was unique..
they should make a sequel to the PS3!!! hence the ps3's power and all, anyways i hope they dont screw it badly, i know it wont work well, but i dont want hollywood to screw it badly, like the mario bros. movie, i didnt see it...but i know it sucked

The team behind Ico and SotC are working on a PS3 game, actually.

Just watched the movie "Reign over me" wich is about a man who lost his familly in the 9/11 tragedy (played by Adam Sandler)... there are a few scenes in the movie where Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle play Shadow of the Colossus. Definitely not a comedy, but a good movie.
