Remastered Beatles library result of Rock Band?

Has the Fab Four's digital success lead to an entirely new, digitally remastered re-release of their entire library?

Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music have recently announced that on September 9th of this year (09/09/09), the entire Beatles library will be digitally remastered for release. Yep, that means all 12 Beatles albums that you're going to have to buy yet again.

While Beatles re-releases aren't anything new, the interesting aspect of this story comes from Billboard executive Robert Levine, who points out that the remastered Beatles library will coincide with the release of the upcoming Beatles: Rock Band game.

Most bands, when they do a big project like this they pay for publicity. The Beatles got paid for 'Rock Band' and then they are using that for publicity to re-release a catalogue. It's pretty amazing.

I hear they're "digitally remastering" the song "All You Need is Love" and renaming it "All You Need is a Six-Figure Check."

I love The Beatles. The only CD I bought was Revolver. The rest well you know everyone I know has their CDs. I can't wait to play this game.

Please release Beatles Box Set so they can be bought all at once in the same fashion as the Led Zeppelin Mini LP CD Collection.

I have their whole collection... and I probably won't buy it again... the ones I have were remastered in the early 90's I think.

Sorry to say man, but only one quarter is going to Paul... 1 quarter to Ringo, 1 quarter to Mrs Harrison and last but not least, the last quarter goes to none other than our precious Yoko Ono! I won't stop buying Beatles stuff, but I die a little inside everytime, knowing some of it goes to Yoko. Same with Nirvana releases... Courtney Love gets her cut :(
